Scavenger hunt, Part 2

Sorry about being MIA recently.  I’ve been avoiding writing this blog because I could sense the end of the semester bearing down upon me, and I haven’t really felt like I could put it all down into words, it has been so overwhelming. And now my semester is over and it’s time to give you all at least one more blog.  I’ve left Chengdu, and my friend, Heather, and I are actually in Nanjing right now, but I’ll update you with the rest of my adventures in Chengdu before I jump into Nanjing.  Which has been really great so far.
So, first, things that you would only see in China.  Or abroad I guess.  In picture form.

Questionable power lines.  Enough said.  You could reach up and touch these ones.

Sidewalks that are used as parking.

Crazy traffic.  I'm standing about a foot away from incoming traffic.

Street cleaners are ubiquitous.  Think of how clean the streets of America could be if we employed more people like that.

They have recycling and trash bins here, literally, almost every 200 feet.  I don't think we see too much of that.

You would probably see this in the US, but I thought it was funny here.

Only in China do you see construction materials being strapped to a rickshaw.

There we go!  Next blog coming up tomorrow.
